Heritage Meaford
|
History: First formed nearly seven years ago, Heritage Meaford’s first years were focused on working with the renovation project of the old town hall, turning it into an arts centre. This came to fruition in 2006 (Meaford Hall). We financially raised money to support a feasibility study for this public building, working alongside the council of the day. The branch was successful in garnering $90,000 in pledges from local organizations, user groups and individuals who all supported the rejuvenation of this designated heritage building. The branch continued to raise funds with various events including Meaford’s first Town and Country Heritage House Tour. It is now time to refresh and regroup as we can see a new need for a local heritage branch that can help enlighten, engage and educate the public. In the very near future we hope to strengthen our branch by aligning with our neighbouring ACO Branch (Georgian Bluffs) and with other regional historical organizations. Contact: |
