Visits with Ontario MPPs
February 27, 2017
Following on last year's successful meetings with 24 MPP's, once again Architectural Conservancy Ontario representatives will be at Queen's Park to talk about why, even with a stronger Ontario Heritage Act, we are still losing our heritage.
This year we will focus on three specific items where the Province can play an important role: conserving Ontario's School Buildings, conserving Ontario's wood windows and doors, and priorizing heritage buildings highly in infrastructure programs.
The ACO Policy Committee, chaired by Dan Schneider has developed this year’s strategy and approach.
This year’s visit will be held on February 27th, immediately after Heritage Week. Our volunteers are doing our part, but we could use some help plugging the policy and legislative loopholes that cost us important community landmarks.
Our members will meet at Queen's Park and be organized into small teams to attend pre-arranged meetings with MPP's. If you have any questions or are an MPP wanting to arrange a meeting , please contact Laurie Bryson, MPP Day Co-ordinator who will be in Room 230 all day, February 27
The presentation and background documents for the day can be found in resources
